Emily has been working with children and families in a variety of settings for more than 20 years. She brings passion to her work in seeing that families become successful amidst the many challenges they face. Her experience includes being a director of private and non-profit childcare centers. She owned and operated a family childcare home. She has adminsitered childcare resource and referral programs in both California and Washington states and administered the USDA Food Program in a three county area. She administered programs working with homeless children and their families that received awards for "best practices". Through her work in a variety of settings she developed skills as a parent educator and believes that all parents benefit from learning more about the most challenging job: parenting. She also has completed graduate work in fundraising and some graduate level coursework in child abuse prevention. She finds her work in Dunsmuir an opportunity to utilize all of her skills in serving a community of children and families.
